Who is going to cast the first stone?

Since the early hours of this morning, the media coverage of the Tiger Woods statement(http://web.tigerwoods.com/news/article/200912027740572/news/)ย  has been non- stop.Since his return from the Australian Masters, there had been the odd press article or electronic media report but all that changed last week-end , when it was reported he had crashed his car on the street outside his Florida residence. The media went into a frenzy building up to a climax today, when Tiger Woods released a statement which alluded to marital indiscretions.

Yes, this man is an elite sportsman, with a high public profile and courts the media when it suits his own purposes but what business is it of anyone, except his wife and him, whether or not he has had an affair(s)? What right has anyone to offer an opinion or make a judgment call on his situation and which individual taking the moral high road, is going to cast the first stone? Plenty is my guess! The world is full of hypocrites who moralise about the lives of others when they should be examining their own.

Many thanks for the responses I have received about yesterday’s post. They were gratefully received ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Maureen,
Too funny. I was thinking about writing about this very subject, but I decided that it would just make me too upset about the raging hypocrisy.

  2. Hello Maureen
I guess I am too worn out from the Letterman story I wrote to make one over this, or maybe because I am not a sports fan that I just don’t care. The thing I can’t wrap my mind around is how men who have beautiful wives just aren’t happy and have to cheat anyway, when is enough, enough! Sad statement on men in general.

  3. Hi Glen,
Thanks for you comments, as always. It’s good to get a male’s perspective on things too. I suppose none of us knows what goes on behind closed doors do we?
Best wishes and take lots of care.

  4. Hi Lita,
Great comment Lita. I get sick and tired of people who point the finger and sit in moral judgment of others. First it is the business of he and his wife and second, if there is financial fall out with company endorsements and sponsorship, then it will be between him and those companies to sort out. Really though, do we care?
    Big hugs
