Graduation Night.

It was a very pleasant week-end here in suburban Melbourne. Good weather and we had visitors on and off all week-end. D managed to get the whipper snipper (weed whacker), which has been sitting idle in some dark recess of the garage working again so the yards were trimmed and just about anything else that did not move, was given a good haircut! I swear, something comes over D when he gets that thing in his hands. LOL The edges look neat and tidy, the yards have been reined in and everything looks presentable again.Weather permitting, I hope to have Christmas lunch outdoors this year. It is much more relaxed and considering most of the food is going to prepared on the BBQ, a practical option.Christmas! I have no idea who will be here this year. It could be 3 or it could be 6-10. That’s the way we roll here. Each year we have people who would normally spend the day alone, join us. It is a noisy day and we always eat late and continue the festivities well into the night.

Tonight , I am going to the course graduation. I am not particularly fond of such events but I will wait until each student receives their diploma, then make a discreet exit. Some of these ceremonies go on until quite late, then there are usually invitations to party or club afterward(normally in the city) but I think I will leave that to the younger students! 🙂

  1. It’s always nice to read your post,
    It’s like a visit!

Also great to see music video of Spencer Davis Group, The Winwood brothers were talented.

  2. Hi Richard,
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I am pleased you feel that way. The Spencer Davis Group and in particular that song have been long time favourites and I play them often( loud). LOL
    Best wishes to you.
    Maureen 🙂

  3. Maureen,
Congratulations on your graduation from the course. Yes, the ceremonies are interminable and no one seems to realize that graduation speakers are completely unnecessary as few people are actually listening.

    Hugs,
    Lita

  4. Hi Lita,
Thanks so much. I am going to miss attending classes but hope to continue with something else next year.
    Hugs to you too
    Maureen 🙂
