Boxing Day.

Merry Christmas to those in the Northern Hemisphere!

It is Boxing Day here in Australia, which means a well-earned rest for some of us but others,it means flocking to the shopping malls for the annual post Christmas sales. Quite frankly, I couldn’t think of anything worse. The thought of being in the middle of a stampede to secure a bargain is just too much, no matter how good the deal is!

We had a beautiful day yesterday, which began early, when Christmas sms greetings began coming through and then phone calls from various friends and relatives. After a leisurely breakfast and opening gifts, we began to prepare for lunch. As is tradition here, we did not eat until about 15:00 and continued until the early evening. It was a lovely day  and everything went well. Great company, good food, beautiful gifts and plenty of laughter. I think the lights were finally turned out here at 04:00( this morning)!

The remainder of today is going to be very lazy, with the possibility of a sleep this afternoon. 🙂

  1. Maureen,
December 26th here, and I am catching up with my blogging. I haven’t written about the Ohio saga but plan to do so next.

Doing absolutely nothing but catching up on reading my favorite people and writing.

Hope your Boxing Day was incredibly relaxing. Best to all.

    Big hugs,
    Lita

  2. Hi Lita,
So glad you have returned safely. I was watching the weather reports coming through about your area and was concerned that you would even make it to Ohio.
Relax and be like me and do absolutely nothing for a day!
    Big hugs
    Maureen 🙂
